Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: September 9, 2026
Sararo Beauty, LLC d/b/a The Scope ("The Scope," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to providing a website and digital publication that can be used by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing part of our publishing, design, and technology practices, and we welcome feedback when a reader encounters a barrier.
1. Accessibility Standard and Approach
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as a technical reference point for our accessibility efforts. Our goal is to improve the accessibility and usability of The Scope over time and to address material barriers that we identify or that readers bring to our attention.
Because The Scope is continuously updated and may include third-party technology, embedded content, archived material, and user- or partner-supplied content, we do not represent that every page, feature, file, or item of content currently conforms to every WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criterion or will function identically with every browser, device, operating system, or assistive technology. References to WCAG describe our accessibility benchmark and ongoing efforts; they are not a certification or warranty of complete conformance.
Accessibility considerations may include, among other things:
-
providing alternative text for meaningful images where appropriate;
-
maintaining readable text and sufficient color contrast;
-
supporting browser zoom and text enlargement;
-
organizing articles and webpages using meaningful headings and page structure;
-
supporting keyboard navigation where reasonably practicable;
-
using descriptive links and controls;
-
improving the accessibility of forms and interactive website features;
-
providing captions, transcripts, descriptions, or other alternatives for multimedia content where appropriate;
-
considering accessibility when publishing editorial articles, product reviews, graphics, videos, podcasts, and other digital content; and
-
reviewing accessibility concerns as they are identified.
Accessibility is an ongoing process. Technologies, accessibility standards, website functionality, content, and assistive technologies continue to develop, and The Scope may periodically modify or improve its website in response.
2. Accessibility Practices
As part of our ongoing efforts, we seek to design, publish, and maintain content using accessibility practices appropriate to the Site, including, where applicable:
using logical page structures and heading hierarchies;
providing meaningful alternative text for images that convey information, while appropriately treating decorative images;
-
supporting keyboard navigation and visible focus where supported by the Site and its components;
-
using readable typography and considering color contrast and text resizing;
-
using descriptive links and labels rather than relying only on visual context;
-
providing captions, transcripts, or other alternatives for audio and video when reasonably practicable and appropriate to the content;
-
reviewing forms, buttons, menus, and interactive features for understandable labels and operation; and
-
using platform accessibility tools, automated scans, and manual review as aids in identifying potential barriers.
Automated tools can be helpful, but they cannot identify every accessibility issue. We therefore treat automated testing as one part of a broader accessibility process rather than as proof of compliance.
3. Editorial, Visual, Audio, and Multimedia Content
As a digital editorial publication, The Scope may publish articles, reviews, photographs, illustrations, graphics, charts, videos, audio content, podcasts, interactive features, ingredient information, product information, archived material, and other editorial or multimedia content. We seek to make material information available in accessible form where reasonably practicable.
We endeavor to make this content reasonably accessible to users with disabilities.
Certain historical, archived, highly visual, multimedia, or technically complex content may not yet be available in every accessible format. Some visual or artistic content may be difficult to describe fully without changing its creative or editorial character. When an image conveys information necessary to understand an article, we seek to provide meaningful text alternatives or surrounding context. For audio or video, accessibility features may depend in part on the original source, platform, or rights provided to us.
If you experience difficulty accessing a particular article, image, video, podcast, graphic, feature, or other piece of content, please contact us so that we can evaluate the issue and, where reasonably practicable, provide the information or content through an alternative accessible method.
4. Compatibility and Assistive Technology
The Scope is intended to work with commonly used current browsers, devices, and assistive technologies. Experiences can vary based on the combination of browser, operating system, device settings, extensions, screen reader, speech-recognition software, magnification software, or other assistive technology in use. Keeping browsers and assistive technologies reasonably up to date may improve compatibility.
5. Third-Party Content and Services
The Scope may contain, link to, or integrate content, functionality, tools, and services provided or controlled by third parties. These may include social-media embeds, video or audio players, advertisements, affiliate and retailer links, widgets, applications, plugins, analytics tools, newsletter services, forms, payment or commerce services, public-relations or press materials, and external websites.
Because these third-party websites, platforms, applications, content, and technologies may be designed, operated, or controlled independently of Sararo Beauty, LLC, their accessibility features and level of accessibility may vary. We do not control and cannot guarantee the accessibility of independently operated third-party websites, platforms, content, or technology.
The Scope encourages third-party providers whose content or functionality appears on the Site to provide accessible and inclusive experiences. When a third-party component used on the Site creates a material accessibility barrier to content or functionality that The Scope provides, we will make reasonable efforts, when practicable, to evaluate the issue and may modify our implementation, work with the applicable provider, provide an alternative method of access, or take another reasonable remedial step.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier involving third-party content or functionality while using The Scope, please contact us at sara.azmi@readthescope.com so that we can review the issue and, when practicable, identify an alternative means of accessing the relevant information or functionality.
Links to, references to, or integration with third-party services do not constitute a representation, warranty, or endorsement by Sararo Beauty, LLC regarding the accessibility practices or accessibility of those third parties.
6. Archived and Legacy Content
Older or archived materials may have been created before our current accessibility practices were adopted, may use legacy formats, or may contain third-party content that cannot readily be modified. We may prioritize remediation based on factors such as reader need, frequency of use, feasibility, the nature of the barrier, and whether an accessible alternative can be provided.
If you need access to archived content that presents an accessibility barrier, please contact us. We will consider a reasonable alternative or remediation when practicable.
7. Accessibility Assistance and Alternative Access
If a disability or accessibility barrier prevents you from accessing information, content, functionality, products, services, or features available through The Scope, we encourage you to contact us.
We will make reasonable efforts, consistent with applicable law and the circumstances of the request, to understand the accessibility concern and determine whether the requested information, content, service, or functionality can be provided through an accessible alternative.
When contacting us, it is helpful to include:
-
the webpage, article, feature, or content you were attempting to access;
-
the URL of the affected page, if available;
-
a brief description of the accessibility issue you encountered;
-
the browser, device, or assistive technology you were using, if relevant; and
-
the best way for us to contact you regarding the request.
Providing this information is voluntary, but it may help us investigate and address the issue more effectively.
8. Applicable Accessibility Laws
Sararo Beauty, LLC seeks to operate The Scope in a manner consistent with applicable federal, state, and local accessibility and nondiscrimination requirements. Our accessibility initiatives are informed by recognized accessibility principles, including WCAG, and by accessibility and nondiscrimination requirements that may apply to our operations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable Virginia law.
Nothing in this Accessibility Statement is intended to constitute an admission regarding the applicability of any particular statute, regulation, technical standard, jurisdiction, or legal requirement to Sararo Beauty, LLC, The Scope, or any particular portion of the website.
Similarly, reference to WCAG or any other accessibility standard describes the standards informing our accessibility efforts and should not be interpreted as a representation, warranty, or certification that every webpage, item of content, third-party component, or feature presently satisfies every criterion of that standard unless expressly stated otherwise.
9. Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing process. The Scope may update its design, publishing systems, editorial formats, integrations, and accessibility practices over time. We may also revise this Accessibility Statement to reflect material changes in our Site, technology, practices, or applicable requirements.
The date at the top of this Statement identifies the most recent update. Continued availability of this Statement does not mean that no accessibility issues exist or that every issue can be remediated immediately.
10. Requesting Accessible Content or Assistance
If you experience difficulty accessing information or using a feature on The Scope, you may ask us for assistance or for the information in an alternative format. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis, medical history, or other sensitive health information in order to report an accessibility issue.
To help us understand the issue, you may include the page URL, a short description of the barrier, and, if you choose, the browser, device, or assistive technology you were using. We may ask reasonable follow-up questions when needed to locate the issue or determine an appropriate alternative. We will make a good-faith effort to review accessibility feedback and respond within a reasonable period based on the nature and complexity of the request.
